Mission Statement

The Connacht Branch of Badminton Ireland exists to promote and develop badminton throughout the province.

In addition to liasing with the county associations to assist in the development of the game, the branch schedules the Connacht Closed tournaments and organises league finals at the end of each season, in which the winners of each county association’s leagues take part.

There is also an emerging re-focus on the development of juvenile badminton which has seen numbers of under-age players wane in recent years. The branch, in conjunction with Badminton Ireland, is attempting to transform badminton in the West to regain the strength and popularity that the sport had in the past.
