Badminton Ireland have published their development plan for the next 4 years on their website – click here or download directly here. The plan shows the work being done to enhance the reputation of badminton when compared to other sports, and build participation rates across the country. Juvenile Claimback

The Connacht branch operates a Juvenile claimback. Juveniles who take part in Open competitions outside of Connacht can apply to the Connacht Branch for a 100% refund of competition entry fees. All applications should be sent by email to Anthony Walsh (awalsh@cgold.ie / 087-6795670) and Adrian Furey (adrian.furey@zimmer.com / 087-2862008).

Applications for claimback should be sent before the tournament occurs.

Coaching

Badminton Ireland maintains a list of active coaches around Ireland, including those in Connacht. This list can be found by clicking here. Also check out the main coaching page on the BI website.

Please note that coaches on the BI list are simply people that have successfully completed a course and are affiliated with Badminton Ireland. It does not indicate that the coach is Garda vetted or actively coaching – clubs must check this themselves.

To contact a coach, get in touch with the regional development officers, Tommy Hehir and David Magee – contact details above.
